Launch of Inclusive Eye Health Report 2021
As part of CBM’s celebration of World Sight Day - 14th October 2021- and its message on the importance of eye health for everyone, we are launching our Inclusive Eye Health Initiative Annual Report.
The report demonstrates our determination to work with our partners to ensure eye care services become sustainable and fully locally owned and that the most marginalised populations, such as those with disabilities, have the quality eye care they need. It also examines the innovations we are employing to improve our reach so that we can provide better access for communities.
The stories are from some of our 222 eye health programmes and collaborations in 48 countries and include a look at a new district approach to eye care in Kenya and a celebration of 50 years of CBM in Pakistan. There is also an exploration of our collaboration with Peek and our joint endeavours to provide effective and inclusive eye screening and follow-up care in 12 projects in 5 countries.
Also featured in the report is the difference the support of CBM has made in Dosso, in Southern Niger in bringing eye care services closer to communities and how our partnership with Zeiss has meant the donation of vital equipment to 33 of our partners in 15 countries.
Last, but not the least, there is an account of the adaptions made in a timely fashion for safe and effective eye care services during the pandemic, and beyond.
